Diptyque ‘Ambre’
Score: 90%
Notes: woods, vetiver, patchouli, aniseed, spices, incense, tonka
In their words: A warm and elegant procession of woods, vetiver and patchouli, enhanced with radiant aniseed, insolent spices, mysterious incense, cistus and Tonka bean.
In our words: This is what we imagine sex might smell like in heaven. It’s mixture of woody and oriental notes give this candle an unmistakably rustic yet sophisticated scent. If James Bond were a candle, he’d be this one.

Scent: Perfection
Throw: This candle will make your entire house smell great.
Design: The design is gorgeous. The glass is heavy and premium feeling, and the label has an art gallery feel to it that’ll make you want to keep it on your shelf well after its burned down.
Value: There are candles made of more premium materials, but few can claim to be as iconic as what we’ve come to expect from Diptyque.
-
Carcinogenic Wax: Diptyque candles are made of paraffin wax which creates the highly toxic benzene and toluene when burned — both known carcinogens and linked to asthma and lung cancer.
Sustainability: From what we could find, it doesn’t appear Diptyque uses recycled glass for their containers, although according to Diptyque, their perfumes and waxes are made sustainably and ethically
