Diptyque ‘Tubereuse’
Score: 83%
Notes: Tuberose
In their words: The scent of tuberose in the wide fields of Southern India, where these fragrant white flowers are grown. From the top of their long, slender stems, they exhale a heady yet fresh and green scent, delicately nuanced with fruity, milky notes.
In our words: Tuba what? Ok look. It doesn’t smell like roses, but it doesn’t not smell like roses. When we close our eyes, we get the sensation of laying down in a field of flowers. What are we doing in the field? Figuring out how to pronounce Tubareuse. 🎺

Family: Floral
Size: 6.7oz
Burn: 50-60 hrs
Price: $68 ($1.36/hr)
Blend: Paraffin Wax ⚠️ (linked to asthma and lung cancer) -
Scent: It’s quite similar to Diptyque’s ‘Gardenia’ candle, but this scent is far more complex. We’re still not sure what a Tubereuse flower even looks like, but it smells fantastic.
Throw: One of the reasons Diptyque candles are worth the splurge is their throw. This candle will make your entire house smell great.
Design: There are candles made of more premium materials, but few can claim to be as iconic as what we’ve come to expect from Diptyque.
Value: This may not be an everyday burn for everyone, but its hard to argue this candle isn’t worth the hefty price tag for its aesthetic, scent, and throw.
-
Carcinogenic Wax: Diptyque candles are made of paraffin wax which creates the highly toxic benzene and toluene when burned — both known carcinogens and linked to asthma and lung cancer.
Sustainability: From what we could find, it doesn’t appear Diptyque uses recycled glass for their containers, although according to Diptyque, their perfumes and waxes are made sustainably and ethically.
